Hutching Up the Dust Bunnies
We have out-of-town friends coming to dinner tomorrow. One of them is very allergic to cats. On Tuesday, what had been a small and casual lunch with my aunt and uncle turned into an extended family gathering. Some of those family members have higher housekeeping standards for their own homes than I have for mine, especially for the past six months. (Although, I have to say that our house...
Dad Saves Christmas
Christmas isn’t the star of the winter holiday spectacular at chez dinorino. Even so, seeing my family of origin on December 25 was important to me. It’s our third Christmas without Mom, and our first one with the babies. I have some feelings.
My youngest brother got sick and didn’t want to pass it on to the babies. At first, we thought I might go to Dad’s by myself. It...

Hey, you know who Jesus liked a lot? Poor people, sick people, and refugees.
Just sayin’, because it’s Christmas.

Matt Wedel talks about visualizing life-like sauropod heads, using what we know about muscles as well as bones. He partners with Paleoartist Brian Engh for pretty and informative pictures. Not sure about the etiquette of reblogging the illustrations in this case, so you’ll have to trust me when I suggest that dinosaur enthusiasts click through.

Undeterred
I just came from an interfaith prayer meeting for the DREAM Act. We were there to lend strength and support to the young people who are visiting their senators today.
Anyway, I rushed to the train, not stopping to adjust the “uniform.” In case you were wondering, being a wild-haired lady in a clerical collar doesn’t faze people at all who are looking for a seat on the train.

Just rolled through New Carrollton on the train. It’s weird to feel like I’m coming home when I feel so settled in our home in Baltimore.
Muppet Christmas Carol
Currently. I had forgotten that Statler and Waldorf were young in the Christmas Past segment.

Abundance
There is enough room in the world for all kinds of oatmeal cookies: raisins, chocolate chips, unadulterated oatmeal, even cranberries and nuts. Personally, the cookies I like best depend on my mood. If I’m making cookies to share with you, I’ll ask about what you like, never fear.
Peace, y’all.
